I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the US when I was 3 years old with my Mom. She is my biggest inspiration and the textbook definition of an Independent woman. I hope to be even half the woman she is now, and later on, as a mother. I studied at Olympia high school where I had a difficult time with dealing with bullies. I decided to leave and pursue my GED. I plan now to study cosmetology because it’s always been a hobby, and then to study business and a profession involving kids. Right now I’m a swim instructor and life guard at the YMCA. I enjoy my job so much because I get to work up close with children of all ages and get to know each and every one of them while teaching them something I share an interest with them in. It makes me feel so proud when I see them improve and enjoy swimming! In the future I hope to be a strong Latina woman that other young ladies can look up to not only in Central Florida but around the US and Central America.

In Her Own Words:
